What is a toro pool?

Toro pool is a traditional game of dodging or jumping over a bull released into an arena or paddock. It is especially popular in the south of France, particularly in the Camargue, and in Spain. The Toro pool was the origin of Intercities, a TV game show in which two cities competed against each other in a series of physical and playful events.

This event was often one of the most eagerly awaited, attracting large numbers of spectators due to its spectacular nature. The practice is controversial, however, and gives rise to debate about the treatment of animals. But it remains popular with many bullfighting enthusiasts in France.

The toro pool takes place three times a week during the 2 summer months of July and August. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the Grau-du-Roi bullring. The toro pool is an activity for adults and children aged 6 and over, guaranteeing 1h30 of laughter. Everyone can take part. Who will stay on the bull as long as possible? Participants can also try their hand at acrobatics and styling effects, to make the experience even more fun. Nevertheless, it’s important to take safety precautions when playing toro pool. Participants must always wear protective equipment and follow the instructions of qualified personnel to avoid injury. Test your strength, speed and balance while having fun.
